This is probably the warmest of all the warmhearted tales. Don't you think?
I am pretty sure I actually saw something like this on the news once. If not, I made it up, but either way it is one of the funniest images I have ever had in my mind. There was a guy in the back of a pickup truck just FIRING bread at hungry refugees. Just thinking about that now makes me sit back and laugh. Bread bouncing off their heads. I've asked a number of people why this is such a funny image and even the kindest hearted people try to stifle a laugh when I tell them about it. I only hope that I've conveyed the picture in my mind in this story. If you didn't get a big laugh then I didn't do it.
Almost nobody figured out what the couple ate in the second story. Here are the clues in the story:
1) They have no money to buy any food with
2) The baby is always crying, keeping them awake
3) They suddenly have food to eat at Christmas
4) They are able to sleep without the baby crying ever again
